The nature reserve Ringesbach- and upper Gleierbachtal with a size of 12.82 ha is located south of Bracht (Schmallenberg) in the urban area of Schmallenberg . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Schmallenberg Northwest landscape plan .

Area description

The NSG is a Bachtal complex with floodplain; the streams are Gleierbach and Ringesbach . Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the Bachtal complex with floodplain and its species inventory.

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
