About this picture

Neuberg is a municipality in the Main-Kinzig district in the state of Hesse . It was created in 1971 as part of the regional reform in Hesse from the communities of Ravolzhausen and Rüdigheim .

geography

location

Neuberg is located in the east of the Rhine-Main conurbation. In the north, Neuberg borders the foothills of the Vogelsberg. The altitude of the community is between 122 m asl in the south and 196 m asl in the north. Hanau is about 10 km away and Frankfurt am Main is about 30 km away.

Neighboring communities

Neuberg borders the municipality of Hammersbach in the north, the municipality Ronneburg in the northeast, the city of Langenselbold in the east, the city of Erlensee in the south and the city of Bruchköbel in the west .

structure

The community Neuberg consists of the districts Ravolzhausen and Rüdigheim .

Incorporations

On April 1, 1971, the previously independent communities of Ravolzhausen and Rüdigheim were merged to form the new community of Neuberg. In the two current districts, lying on the common border, there are the field names "Am Neuen Berg" (on the district of Rüdigheim) and "Im Neueberg" (on the district of Ravolzhausen). After these two field names, the place name "Neuberg" was chosen as the future place name from the merger in 1971.

A merger between Neuberg and Erlensee is currently being planned.

Religions

There is a Protestant church in each of the two villages. The community is predominantly Protestant. The Protestant church in Rüdigheim is particularly interesting from a historical point of view, as it is one of the oldest churches in the Main-Kinzig district as a former Johanniterkirche.

The coat of arms of the municipality of Hanau in what was then the district of Hanau was approved by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior on September 8, 1972 . It was designed by the Bad Nauheim heraldist Heinz Ritt .
