The Nord / LB Open 2009 was a tennis tournament that took place from June 30th to July 5th, 2009 in Braunschweig . It was the 16th edition of the tournament and part of the 2009 ATP Challenger Tour . The game was played outdoors on clay.

The individual competition won the third-placed Óscar Hernández , who defeated the seventh-placed Teimuras Gabashvili in three sets in the final. Hernandez won the doubles competition the year before alongside Marco Crugnola . Both players did not compete in the doubles competition this year. Last year's individual winner, Nicolas Devilder , was eliminated in the first round this year. In doubles, the top seeded Johan Brunström and Jean-Julien Rojer prevailed against the unseeded Brian Dabul and Nicolás Massú in the final . They stayed there throughout the tournament without losing a set.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. In the run-up, there was an injury-related cancellation. The fourth seeded Ivo Minář could not compete due to a back injury. For him, Carlos Poch-Gradin moved into the main field as a lucky loser .
