Nordreisa ( North Sami Raïssa , kvenisch Raisi ) is a municipality in Northern Norway in Fylke Troms og Finn Mark .
It includes the Reisadalen mountain valley and is characterized by pine forests. The largest town and administrative center of the municipality is Storslett at the mouth of the Reisaelva River in a fjord. The municipality's airport is in the neighboring settlement of Sørkjosen.
The majority of the population are the Kvens , descendants of Finnish immigrants in the 18th century. Most Kvenes speak Norwegian as their mother tongue today, only a few old citizens still speak Kven , a language closely related to Finnish . Ethnic Norwegians and Sami are in the minority.
Nordreisa was almost completely destroyed when the Wehrmacht withdrew in 1945, so that the places were rebuilt in unadorned modern architecture. Old wooden houses survived the war in Havnnes. The 269 m high Mollisfossen waterfall is also worth seeing.
