|
Ostendorf ( Low German Oostendbod ) is a village in Lower Saxony in the Elbe-Weser triangle , which is part of the city of Bremervörde .
geography
Ostendorf is located in the middle of the Elbe-Weser triangle in the northern part of the Rotenburg (Wümme) district on the Oste and is part of the city of Bremervörde . The place consists of two districts, the historic Ostendorf in the north and Ottendorf in the south.
Neighboring communities
The following places belong to the neighboring communities:
Neighboring towns within the Bremervörde urban area are Hönau-Lindorf , Iselersheim and Nieder Ochtenhausen .
geology
The entire subsoil of the place is bog , as it is in the Vörder Moor, an outer area of the Teufelsmoors . This is particularly rich in water because there is a classic polder area between the local road and the Oste . The lowest point of the place and the urban area of Bremervörde are the Ostendorfer meadows with about half a meter below sea level. There are no surveys in the local area, apart from the artificially constructed dykes and road embankments .
Waters
The Oste , a former federal waterway , and many other smaller rivers and streams that flow into the Oste run through the local area . The largest of these are the Hönau-Lindorf-Neundammer ship ditch, the Niederochenhausener ship ditch, the Ostendorfer ship dam ditch, the Ottendorfer drainage ditch and the four ditch ditches. In addition, the place borders the Mehe in the north , which flows into the Oste shortly afterwards.
history
Ostendorf was founded in the course of the moor colonization by Jürgen Christian Findorff in 1764. A little later, Ottendorf was also founded. In the 20th century the two localities were merged and form today's Ostendorf.
On March 1, 1974, the Ostendorf community was incorporated into the city of Bremervörde.
politics
coat of arms
The coat of arms shows four red rectangles on a silver background, of which four blue straight stripes lead under a red bar. All four stripes end at a large red rectangle with a curved and wider blue stripe over it.
The red bar stands for the long local road, the rectangles symbolize the Ostendorfer pumping station . From the smaller pumping stations, the four Ostendorfer Staugräben, which all lead into the oste represented by the blue stripe , run through the classic polder area to the last large pumping station.
Local mayor and local council
The local mayor is Uwe Noetzelmann ( SPD ), who was re-elected in the 2011 local elections . He is also the only Ostendorfer member of the Bremen City Council . His deputy is Margret Eckhoff. Both are members of the local council, which also includes Christian Balk, Klaus-Hinrich Bardenhagen and Thomas Buck ( as of November 30, 2012 ).
Economy and Transport
A large part of the population works in agriculture .
traffic
The district roads 106 ( Bremervörde- Ostendorf, length: 8.8 km) and 136 ( Iselersheim- Ostendorf, length: 1.9 km) are part of the road network . In the following years the planned federal motorway 22 , now renamed federal motorway 20 , is to be built. The route would run between the southern local area and the neighboring town of Nieder Ochtenhausen and then cross the Oste by bridge .
In local public transport , Autobus Stoss GmbH operates bus lines 811 and 812, which run through Ostendorf and end in Bremervörde .
Infrastructure
In public places there is a village community center with a shooting range , a volunteer fire brigade and a sports field .
Educational institutions no longer exist in Ostendorf for a long time. The competent institutions are the Iselersheimer Children's Circle , the iselersheimer Findorff - primary school and secondary schools Bremervördes .
The Bremervörder Anzeiger , the Bremervörder Zeitung and the special newspapers of the Bremervörder Zeitung are distributed as print media in Ostendorf .
Waste disposal is regulated by the Bremen town hall, so that the contents of the yellow sack and the large rubbish container are removed by garbage disposal . Waste glass and waste paper can be disposed of in containers provided for this purpose in the neighboring towns of Iselersheim and Nieder Ochtenhausen , but the Ostendorf volunteer fire brigade offers to collect all the waste paper at regular intervals, as the residents can use this disposal method and against the introduction of a waste paper bin by the Bremervördes city administration were.
Culture and sights
Ostendorf is a typical Moorhufendorf based on the templates of Jürgen Christian Findorff . In contrast to the other villages in the north of Bremervörde , however, the basic type has been very well preserved and has a lot in common with the villages in the Teufelsmoor .
Buildings
Some old moor houses in Ostendorf have been preserved. The Haus am See in Bremervörde is a former Ostendorf building, which was torn down in Ostendorf from 1984 to 1986 and rebuilt almost true to the original on Lake Vörder. It was built in Ostendorf in 1861 according to plans from the 16th century and now functions as a restaurant and event location. The relocation of the Findorff House followed the same pattern . It was moved from Ostendorf to Iselersheim from 2003 to 2005 and is currently used by the Iselersheimer Heimatverein as a location for changing exhibitions as well as a permanent exhibition about Jürgen Christian Findorff .
