society

Thorsteinsson began his adult career with VB Vágur . He made his debut in the first division on matchday one in 1991 in the home game against KÍ Klaksvík , Thorsteinsson contributed the last two goals to the 2-2 draw. In 1993 he had to go into the second class as the last placed , there succeeded as the first placed the direct promotion. With the Sumba / VB syndicate , only the penultimate place could be achieved. In the relegation games against EB / Streymur , the runner-up of the 2nd Deild , Sumba / VB prevailed after a 0-0 in the first leg with an 8-0 home win. The following year, the syndicate was dissolved again, but Thorsteinsson only played three league games for VB Vágur that year. In 1997 he was with VB in the cup final , this game was lost 6-0 against GÍ Gøta .

In the year Thorsteinsson moved to B36 Tórshavn , for which he played two years and took third place in the championship. In 2000 he left the club in the direction of Iceland to the second division Valur Reykjavík , with whom he reached second place and thus promotion, then Thorsteinsson returned to the Faroe Islands and ran again for B36. At the side of Egil á Bø , Jákup á Borg , Jens Kristian Hansen , Heðin á Lakjuni and John Petersen he was finally able to celebrate his first championship. The double was also achieved through the 1-0 win in the cup final against KÍ Klaksvík . After a year-long stint at NSÍ Runavík , with whom the runner-up and the cup could be won by a 2-1 win against HB Tórshavn , Thorsteinsson played the next three years again for B36. After two runner-up championships, the championship was won again in 2005 together with Fróði Benjaminsen , Jákup Mikkelsen , Allan Mørkøre and Mikkjal K. Thomassen . In addition, in 2003 the cup final was won 3-1 against GÍ Gøta, in that year he was voted Player of the Year. In 2006 and 2007 Thorsteinsson competed again for NSÍ Runavík, and to say goodbye he celebrated his third championship with his team- mates Jóhan Troest Davidsen , Hjalgrím Elttør , Jónhard Frederiksberg , Christian Høgni Jacobsen , Jens Martin Knudsen , Bogi Løkin and Einar Tróndargjógv

In 2008 he returned to his hometown club, which was now called VB / Sumba and played in the second division, and remained loyal to it. In the first season, the promotion to third place was narrowly missed, but a year later he returned to the top division as the front runner. There under the new name FC Suðuroy only the penultimate place could be occupied, with Thorsteinsson at his own request only appeared for the second team in the third division, he also moved to the board. In the following years he also regularly helped out with the second agency. In 2014 he came again to three appearances for the first team in the second division and achieved promotion in second place.
