Rab ( Italian Arbe ) is a city on the Croatian island of Rab in the Adriatic Sea . It belongs to the Primorje-Gorski kotar County .
The port city of Rab, located on the west coast of the island, has existed since pre-Christian times. The city has 7957 inhabitants (2017 estimate) and is located on the narrow peninsula between the bay of Sv. Eufemija and the port of Rab.

The old town of Rab has existed for more than 2000 years. As the first city in Roman Dalmatia , it was given the honor of receiving the coveted epithet FELIX (English: "happy").
