Racovița ( German  Rakowitz , Hungarian Oltrákovica ) is a municipality in the Transylvania region , in the Sibiu district in Romania .

The place Racovița is located 27 kilometers southeast of Sibiu ( Hermannstadt ) and six kilometers south of Avrig ( Freck ). Racovița is the seat of the municipal administration for this village and for Sebeşu de Sus ( Ober-Schewesch ).
