Răşinari ( German  townspeople village or Reschinar , Hungarian Resinár ) is a village in the county of Sibiu in Transylvania , Romania .

location

The village is located eight kilometers southwest of Sibiu ( Hermannstadt ) at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains and is part of the Mărginimea Sibiului .

traffic

The former tram to Sibiu

The Hermannstadt tram operated between Sibiu and Rășinari until 2011 , last operated by the Tursib transport company . This line was also called "Cheese Express" due to the professional specialization of the residents of Mărginimea Sibiului. After the remaining wagons were handed over to the Rășinari municipality in 2012 and operations ceased, the line is to be reactivated for tourist purposes in mid-2014 with the help of EU funds. However, the rails were removed in Sibiu as far as Pădurea Dumbrava ( Young Forest ), and a new depot must first be built in Rășinari.

The county road ( drum județean ) DJ 106A runs through Rășinari from Sibiu to Păltiniș ( Hohe Rinne ), a winter sports resort in Romania.
