Ralph Baudach

Ralph Baudach (born December 5, 1982 in Munich ) is a German TV journalist , presenter , news anchor and musician .

Life

Baudach has family roots in Western Pomerania , Thuringia and Saxony . He was born in Munich and grew up in Koblenz . He received lessons on the classical saxophone and played works by Alexander Glazunov , Darius Milhaud , Guy Lacour and Paul Creston . At the Max-von-Laue-Gymnasium in Koblenz he was part of the school band and played a. a. at events of various Rhineland-Palatinate state ministries. He has worked several times in productions at the Koblenz youth theater . In 2000 he performed with his band Sucks-A-Phone at the SWR3 New Pop Festival . In 2001 the band appeared in the 1500th episode of the ARD evening series Verbotene Liebe . With his band muckepack. In 2005 he played at a festival with Anajo , Klee and Clueso . In the same year he took part in an audition with the Federal Jazz Orchestra under Peter Herbolzheimer , which he passed.

After graduating from high school in 2002, Ralph Baudach completed his military service with the Army Music Corps 300 in Koblenz. He then studied Applied Media Studies at the Technical University of Ilmenau as well as Chinese Film, American Literature & Film and Documentary Film at the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines . In 2006 he made the animated film Epilogue in Scotland , which was shown at film festivals in the USA, Brazil, France, Germany, Poland and Iran. In 2008 he produced the animated film MOX with support from the Thuringian State Chancellery and the Goethe Institute of the Philippines , which was also shown worldwide.

Under the pseudonym freisam , Baudach performed on poetry slam stages in Berlin , Munich and Hamburg from 2008 to 2011 .

Baudach worked for Thüringer Allgemeine and Süddeutsche Zeitung TV before he volunteered at Norddeutscher Rundfunk in 2010/2011 . Since 2011 he has produced numerous television programs as a TV author, video journalist and reporter for the programs ttt - titel thesen temperamente (ARD) , Tagesthemen (ARD) , Kulturjournal (NDR), 7 Tage (NDR) and metropolis ( ARTE ). He specialized in cultural reporting. In this context he interviewed Cecilia Bartoli , Birdy , Jacob Collier , Phil Collins , Joy Denalane , Joyce DiDonato , Liam Gallagher , Augustin Hadelich , Nina Hagen , Hiromi , Hannelore Hoger , Melody Gardot , Chilly Gonzales , Al Jarreau , Manu Katché , Joachim Kühn , Janelle Monáe , Anna Netrebko , Anthony Kiedis and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers , Gregory Porter , Thomas Quasthoff , Max Richter , Joe Sample , Matthias Schweighöfer and Ed Sheeran .

Ralph Baudach has moderated the culture section on tagesschau24 since 2014 , for which he also reports from the Berlinale . In 2015 he developed the show Albums of the Year , which he still moderates today. Since March 8, 2019, he can be seen as a spokesman in the ARD's Tagesschau night editions .

In addition to the saxophone , Baudach also plays bass , guitar and clarinet . His saxophone playing can be heard on his own albums, but also on releases by the bands Dazerdoreal and KEN . He runs a recording studio where he writes and produces songs. In 2015 his debut album Click Meat was created there . He plays regularly in the Downtown Big band of Bob Lanese .

Ralph Baudach lives in Hamburg.
