The road leads from Varberg on the Kattegat to the northeast, initially crossing Europaväg 6 and essentially following the river Viskan via Kinna , where it crosses Länsväg 156 , and continues to Borås . There it ends at Riksväg 40, which has been developed like a motorway here .
