Professional career

Everton FC

At the age of eleven , Barkley, who was born in Wavertree in Liverpool in 1993, joined the youth division of Everton FC (called "Finch Farm") and developed into one of the most talented midfielders in England in the youth teams. His strengths were the header game, the tough duel and the pass security. Several months before his 17th birthday, after being promoted to the professional squad at the beginning of the 2010/11 season, he took his place on the bench and was considered a promising candidate for the "first team" before joining a U-19 in October 2010 -International game suffered a triple leg and had to pause for the rest of the season.

The head coach at the time, David Moyes , was further optimistic about Barkley's prospects, predicted the breakthrough for the following season 2011/12 and helped him make his debut on August 20, 2011 against the Queens Park Rangers (0-1). Previously, he was regularly used in the pre-season games and despite the defeat, the ratings of the media experts were benevolent.

Chelsea FC

On January 5, 2018, Barkley moved to reigning champions Chelsea , with whom he received a contract until June 30, 2023.

English selection teams

Barkley was nominated for the first time in September 2008 at the age of 14 for the English U-16 selection and the following year the tournament of Montaigu after a final victory against Germany, the first major title win. With the English U-17 he took part in the European Championship in Liechtenstein in 2010 and contributed two goals of his own to his next trophy - in the final he and his men defeated Spain 2-1. In addition to the English senior team , Barkley would also have been eligible to play for Nigeria .

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the English squad . As one of two field players in the squad, he was not used in the tournament.
