Sąkieły Małe ( German Klein Sunkeln ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community Budry (Buddern) in the powiat Węgorzewski ( Angerburg district ).

Sąkieły Małe is located in the northeast of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , east of the Skallischen Forest (1938 to 1945 Altheider Forest, Polish Lasy Skaliskie ). The district town of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) is 15 kilometers to the south-west.
history
When the administrative district (Prussia) Sunkeln in the district of Angerburg and administrative district Gumbinnen of the Prussian province East Prussia was established in May 1874 , the Gutsdorf Klein Sunkeln was incorporated. In 1910 it had a total of 95 inhabitants.
On October 17, 1928, the village lost its independence and was incorporated into the neighboring rural community of Groß Budschen ( Budzewo in Polish ). But only for a short time, because on April 1, 1931, Klein Sunkeln, Groß Sunkeln (Sąkieły Wielkie) and Steinorter Wiesenhaus were formed into the new rural community Sunkeln .
Together with all of southern East Prussia , Klein Sunkeln was assigned to Poland in the aftermath of the war and since then has borne the Polish form of name "Sąkieły Małe". Today the village is the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish sołectwo) and a place in the community of Budry in the powiat Węgorzewski , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Until 1945, Klein Sunkeln was parish both in the Protestant Church of Buddern in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd Angerburg in the Diocese of Warmia .
