Bogumiły ( German  Amalienhof ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community Budry (Buddern) in the powiat Węgorzewski ( Angerburg district ).

Geographical location

Bogumiły is located in the northeast of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , north of the route of the former railway line Angerburg – Goldap ( Polish Węgorzewo – Gołdap ). The district town of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) is nine kilometers to the south-west.

history

The former Amalienhof was called Lauf until September 25, 1885 and consisted essentially of a large courtyard. The small town was a residential place the rural community Buddern ( Polish Budry ), which until 1945 for the same administrative district in the county Angerburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.

As a result of the war, Amalienhof came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and was given the Polish name Bogumiły . Today the place is part of the rural community Budry in the powiat Węgorzewski , before 1998 to the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

The former Amalienhof was parish up until 1945 in the Evangelical Church of Buddern within the church province of East Prussia of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd Angerburg in the Diocese of Warmia . Today the Catholic residents of Bogumiłys belong to the parish Budry in the diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant church members orientate themselves towards the parish in Węgorzewo (Angerburg) , a branch parish of the parish in Giżycko (Lötzen) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Bogumiły can be reached on a land route from Budry (Buddern) in a few kilometers and thus has a quick connection to the Polish voivodeship road DW 650 (former German Reichsstraße 136 ), which connects Węgorzewo (Angerburg) with Gołdap (Goldap) . The Angerburg – Goldap railway line, which existed from 1899 with its nearest station, Budry, has not been in operation since the end of the Second World War and has been partially dismantled.
