history
The Lords of Affing are first mentioned in 1040. The Hofmark Affing has often had changing owners since the 14th century. In 1682 the property went to the Barons of Leyden and in 1816 Count Maximilian Anton von Leyden sold the Hofmark Affing to Karl Ernst von Gravenreuth . The castle estate Iglhof also passed into his possession.
In the place of today's castle, there was a castle that was burned down in 1462 by Margrave Albrecht Achilles of Brandenburg and rebuilt by Wolfgang von Waldeck († 1483). Johann Baptist Freiherr von Leyden (Electoral Vice Chancellor of Munich) had the palace rebuilt from 1694. It was destroyed by fire on October 16, 1927 and rebuilt in its original form in 1928 by Oswald Bieber .
