Sergei Leontjewitsch Wostrikow ( Russian Сергей Леонтьевич Востриков ; born January 16, 1964 in Kuibyshev , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who was active during his career for the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Vostrikow began his career in his Russian homeland with the then second division club Torpedo Tolyatti . There the offensive player played a total of seven seasons. After it was rarely used in its first season at Torpedo, it made its breakthrough the following year. In the 1981/82 season he completed 48 league games in which he achieved 22 points scorer. The Russian was able to continuously increase this point yield. During his time at Torpedo, he scored 225 points in 331 games.

In the summer of 1987 he left his long-term employer and signed a contract with Chimik Woskressensk , for which he was active for three years before moving to the Italian Serie A at HC Bozen after another two seasons at HK CSKA Moscow . The left shooter celebrated his greatest successes in Bolzano . In addition to winning the Italian championship three times , he and his club also won the Alpine League championship in 1994 and the European Supercup in 1995. Vostrikov was one of the best scorers in the league. The 1997/98 season was his personally most successful year when he scored 135 times in 62 games.

For the 1999/00 season he accepted a lucrative offer from the Augsburg Panthers in the German Ice Hockey League. Vostrikow thus left HC Bozen, for which he was ultimately active for a total of seven years. In the first season in the DEL he was one of the top performers of the Panthers and was the top scorer of the 1999/00 season with 36 goals scored in 51 games. In the same year he was also named the best offensive player by the jurors of the German Ice Hockey League together with the Swede Peter Larsson . In the following year he was the top scorer in the league, achieving 78 scorer points in 56 completed games.

After he was no longer able to convince in the following two years, those responsible for the Augsburg panthers separated from Vostrikov, who then returned to Russia. There the management of the second division Molot-Prikamje Perm was able to convince him of a one-year commitment in Perm . Sergei Vostrikov then ended his active ice hockey career in 2004 at the age of 40.
