Ecaterina Clara Stahl , b. Iencic , (born July 31, 1946 in Satu Mare ; † November 26, 2009 ibid) was a Romanian foil fencer and world champion.

successes

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 , Stahl-Iencic took fifth place with the foil team. In 1965 she won silver with the team at the World Championships , in 1967 she took bronze with the team. At the 1968 Olympic Games , her team won the bronze medal. In 1970 she won silver with the team at the World Championships . At the 1972 Olympic Games it was again bronze with the team. She also won bronze with the team at the 1973 , 1974 and 1975 World Championships . She took part in the 1976 Olympic Games , but did not achieve a medal. At the fencing world championships in 1977 she won bronze again. When they last participated in the Olympic Games in 1980 , Stahl-Iencic finished fourth in the individual and ninth place with the team.

Life

In 1967 she married the journalist István Stahl. She is the mother of the future foil fencer Cristina Stahl . In 1984 she stopped active fencing and became a trainer in Satu Mare, where she taught among other things Rita König and her daughter.
