Thomas Urquhart (born April 16, 1858 in Wallacetown, Ontario , † February 16, 1931 ) was a Canadian politician and 32nd Mayor of Toronto . Urquhart was a member of the Liberal Party of Canada .

Thomas Urquhart is the son of Scottish immigrants. He attended the public school in Wallacetown until he was 13 and then accompanied his father to work as a warehouse worker. At the age of 21 he was appointed Dunwich Municipal Clerk and subsequently became Secretary of the West Elgin Agricultural Society. He passed the university entrance qualification in 1881 and decided to study law. In 1886 he graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. After graduating, he practiced as a lawyer with his brother Daniel Urquhart.

His political career began with the election to the city council in 1900. In the following years he was re-elected and was able to defeat George Horace Gooderham in 1905. From January 1903 to January 1906 he was mayor of Toronto. The major fire in 1904 fell during his term of office .

Urquhart was a senior Baptist member in Toronto and active in two churches. After the death of his first wife, he remarried in 1927. He died on February 16, 1931 of complications from influenza .
