The Czech Football Cup 2015/16 ( Czech Pohár FAČR 2015/16 ) is the 23rd edition of the men's football cup competition of the Football Association of the Czech Republic . The partner of the competition is the Hungarian mineral oil company MOL , which is why the official name is MOL Cup 2015/16 .
The final took place on May 18, 2016 at the Na Stínadlech stadium in Teplice . The defending champion was FC Slovan Liberec .
The cup winner takes part in the third qualifying round for the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League . If the cup winner has already qualified for the Champions League or its qualifying round via the league , the fifth player in the league's final table moves up.
Mode and appointments
The competition started in July 2015 with the preliminary round. For the preliminary round, the teams qualified via the respective district cup competitions. The 33 winners of the preliminary round qualified for the first main round. The 33 winners of the preliminary round joined 14 second division teams in the first main round and another 53 teams. In the second main round, 11 first division teams are added, in the third main round the four best-placed first division teams of the past season and the defending champion (Slovan Liberec). The round of 16, the quarter-finals and the semi-finals are played in home and return legs. The final will take place in April 2016 in a stadium to be determined by the football association at short notice.

Matches of the preliminary round
The biggest surprise of the preliminary round was the clear 3-0 victory of the sixth division newcomers FK Brandýs nad Labem against the fourth division side Sokol Nové Strašecí. The Prague fifth division newcomer ABC Braník prevailed 3-2 in the city derby against fourth division Sokol Libiš. Sixth division TJ Nová Ves u Nového Města na Moravě beat the fourth division SK Bystřice nad Pernštejnem 4: 3, TJ Sokol Ústí from the fifth division managed a 2: 1 win against TJ Valašské Meziříčí, who played in the fourth division. In addition, SK Holice (5th division) prevailed 2-0 against FK Letohrad (4th division) and Sokol Živanice (4th division) threw one of two already started in the preliminary round with a clear 4-1 win Third division side, namely SK Benátky nad Jizerou, from the cup. The only seventh division team in the field, the TJ Hradiště, had no chance, who had to admit defeat in front of 65 spectators with 1: 8 to FK Slavoj Český Krumlov (4th division). At halftime it was 1-1 for Hradiště after the lead, but the underdog broke in the second half of the game. The second highest win came 6-0 to MFK Trutnov against FK Jaroměř (both 4th division).
Only 30 spectators wanted to see the match in Mšeno between the local FK Jiskra and FC Nový Bor, which meant the negative record in the preliminary round. The magnet of the round, however, with 310 spectators, was the derby in Vsetín between the local FC and FC Velké Karlovice + Karolinka, which the guest won 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

Encounters of the 1st main round
The 1st main round was scheduled for July 24th to 26th, 2015, the game SK Klatovy 1898 against FK Viktoria Žižkov was postponed to July 30th, 2015 due to financial difficulties of the guests.
In the first main round, all 14 second division teams confirmed their role as favorites. The Prague second division newcomer FK Slavoj Vyšehrad achieved the highest victory of this round with an 8-1 win in the city derby against fifth division ABC Braník. In contrast, six third division teams had to give up in this round, five of them from the ČFL and two from the MSFL - each against a fourth division team. FC Písek lost on penalties to the lower class Slavoj Český Krumlov, SK Benešov lost 1-0 at Olympia Hradec Králové. The TJ Jiskra Domažlice had to admit defeat 1: 3 at 1. FC Karlovy Vary and Sokol Brozany lost 1: 2 at the former second division club FK Neratovice-Byškovice . The FK Viktoria Zizkov , which received no second division license because of financial problems and had reported for the CFL, subject to the class deeper SK Klatovy with 0: 1st The MSFL participant MSK Břeclav was eliminated after a 1: 2 defeat against Sokol Tasovice and the HFK Třebíč conceded a 0: 4 debacle at the FSC Stará Říše.

2nd main round
The 2nd main round was scheduled for the period August 26th to September 2nd. 11 first division teams (places 5 to 16 with the exception of the defending champion, as of before the start of the season) of the current season and the 43 winning teams of the first main round were qualified. A total of 54 teams took part in the 2nd main round.
Two first division clubs were eliminated from the competition in this round. Baník Ostrava , without a win in the league, lost to fourth division Jiskra Rýmařov 3: 4. The 1. FC Slovacko , placed at this time second place in the league standings, had the fourth division FC TVD Slavičín with 0: beaten second Three second division clubs would also have to give up early, but only after a penalty shoot-out.
