Tursan

Tursan is a French wine-growing region in the Sud-Ouest region , which has had the status of a VDQS since July 11, 1958 . Of the approx. 480 hectares approved area, approx. 280 hectares are currently planted; On average, around 12,000 hectoliters of quality wine are produced. The production is divided into 65 percent red wine and rosé wine and 35 percent white wine.

The production zone is located around 35 kilometers southeast of Mont-de-Marsan and comprises 39 municipalities in the Landes department and two municipalities in the Gers department in the Sud-Adour region at the foot of the Pyrenees bordered by the Landes, Gascony and Béarn .

Grape varieties

In general, the wines have little potential for aging and should not be stored for longer than two years.
