The Lohmühlenstraße underground station is a tunnel stop on the U1 line of the Hamburg subway . It is located under the Steindamm / Lübeckertordamm street in the St. Georg district .
The station was opened on July 2, 1961 as part of the first section of the subway extension from the main station in the direction of Wandsbek. The working title during the construction phase was “St. Georg ".
The central platform located between the two main tracks has access systems with counter halls on the minus 1 level at both ends of the platform. Since May 2019, the stop has been equipped with an elevator and a tactile guidance system for the blind .
The stop abbreviation at the operator company Hamburger Hochbahn is "LS". It is about 900 meters to the neighboring station Hauptbahnhof Süd to the west and the distance to the underground station Lübecker Straße is almost 700 meters.
