station
The station is in the Langenhorn district . The central platform is located between the station's two underground tracks on an embankment . In addition to a roof in the northern part, this has train destination indicators , clocks and benches. The only exit until 2018 is north of the platform at the station building between the two bridge structures of the tracks on the south side of Foorthkamp street. The freight track between Ochsenzoll and Ohlsdorf was on the embankment east of the two underground tracks .
As part of the barrier-free expansion since the beginning of 2017, the subway station was given a second access to the Park + Ride facility with 98 parking spaces and the Bike + Ride facility with 128 parking spaces on the western side to the south end of the platform. The new counter hall with elevator went into operation on September 6, 2018. The cost of the conversion amounted to 7 million euros.
Directly to the east of the train station there is a stop for the 192 city bus in the direction of Langenhorn Markt underground station on Immenhöven street . A little further east, on Tangstedter Landstrasse, there is a stop for the city bus route 192 and the night bus route 606 (the latter only Monday to Friday and in the direction of Norderstedt-Glashütte ). Due to its relatively long distance from the underground station, it was renamed Immenhöven in December 2014 .
history
On September 1, 1919, the station was initially put into operation with a temporary platform on the freight track of the Langenhorn Railway to the east . In 1921 the right station was put into operation, at the same time as the electric train traffic on the line went into operation. Initially, the number of passengers was probably very low, but this should have changed by the mid-1920s, as the Fritz-Schumacher settlement east of the route was built at that time . In 1940 the platform was extended for the use of longer trains. In the post-war years up to the 1960s, there was a denser development around the station, which is why the number of passengers continued to rise.
Ticket sales and their control by staff took place in the ticket hall at street level. In the 1960s, several ticket machines for the different price levels were installed in front of the restricted area, which were replaced by two surcharge ticket machines in the second half of the 1970s. At that time, the barrier system was also dismantled. Around 1970 the platform was lengthened a little so that 9-car trains of the then new type DT3 could be used. In the 1990s, the handling of the trains by the station attendant was replaced by the self-handling by the subway drivers. The terminal building on the platform was thus dispensable and later removed.
The freight track was removed in summer 2008 after there had been no traffic on it since 1991 and the line was tied off at Ohlsdorf station. In the summer of 2013, the section from Langenhorn Markt to Ochsenzoll was closed for several months. a. the station is being renovated. The platform was partially raised and the station building was given a new coat of paint.
