The station has a central platform around 120 meters long on the embankment. The stop is parallel to the street “An der Hochbahn” and ends in the northwest in front of the bridge over Hamburger Straße. The station building is also there. From there, fixed stairs and an elevator lead to the platform. The station can be reached barrier-free using the elevator.

There is a Park + Ride facility with 108 spaces on Georg-Sasse-Straße .

history

The station was built from 1912 to 1914 according to plans by Eugen Göbel , but there was no operation until September 1918. Only when a provisional steam operation to Barmbek (then: Barmbeck) was opened did the stop officially go into operation.

This provisional operation was stopped again in mid-1919. In 1924 one of the mainline tracks was dismantled and electrical operation began in early February 1925. In 1927 a second track was installed, which initially began shortly before the stop and led to the final stop in Ohlstedt .

It was not until 1954 that the second track was extended to Volksdorf, so that the entire line to Ohlstedt was expanded to two tracks.

In 1989 the station was completely renovated, the elevator was installed and a second exit from the embankment was created.

Bridge replacement 2009 seen from the southwest

In July 2009, the two Hoisbüttel bridges were also replaced as part of the renovation of the underground bridges on the Ohlstedt branch ("Brückenschlag 2009" project). For this, Hamburger Straße was closed for several days.
