The Metro Station Oldenfelde is a stop of the Hamburg subway - U1 on the border of the districts Farmsen-Berne and Rahlstedt . The name is derived from the Rahlstedt district of Oldenfelde . The planning approval procedure began in November 2016, construction started on February 16, 2018, and the opening on December 9, 2019. The cost of building the new stop was around 20 million euros.

Location and structure

The Oldenfelde underground station was built between the Farmsen and Berne stops , which were around 2.6 km apart, the second longest stop distance in the Hamburg underground network. It opens up residential areas in which around 4,500 people live. The access is from the Busbrookhöhe road to the west and Am Knill to the east by a footpath that leads to the southern end of the central platform. An additional northern access originally planned was not implemented due to a recently built playground.

The parallel operating and test track in this section of the route was not affected by the structural dimensions and was retained.
