The Metro Station Buchenkamp is a stop of the Hamburg subway - U1 in Hamburg-Volksdorf . It is the last station on the line to Großhansdorf in Hamburg. The state border with Schleswig-Holstein is just behind the eastern head of the station. The abbreviation of the operating company Hamburger Hochbahn is BP.

The station has an approximately 120 meter long central platform on the embankment, which ends in the east on the street “Moorbekweg”.

From the Volksdorf train station to Buchenkamp, ​​the line is double-track, behind the train station the tracks come together. The rest of the Großhansdorfer section of the U1 is single-track with the exception of one passing point in each of the Ahrensburg-West, Schmalenbeck and Großhansdorf stations.

Since February 2, 2017, the station has been barrier-free and accessible by elevator.

history

The station was built around 1914 according to a design by Eugen Göbel and opened on November 5, 1921, at that time only a single track.

In 1935 the second track from Volksdorf to Buchenkamp was reopened.
