Richtweg underground station
The Richtweg underground station is one of the three stations of the Hamburg underground in the area of the city of Norderstedt . It was opened in September 1996 as part of the extension of the U1 line to Norderstedt Mitte . Before that, the Richtweg stop of the Alsternordbahn was at roughly the same point . Their systems were dismantled in this area after the underground line was extended.
The Richtweg station, like the line belonging to it, is owned by Verkehrsgesellschaft Norderstedt (VGN) , a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Norderstedt .
The station abbreviation is "RW". The distance to the neighboring Norderstedt Mitte stop is around 1.4 kilometers, and it is just under 1.3 kilometers to Garstedt.
location
The station is located in the largest Norderstedt district of Garstedt, roughly at the location of the stop of the same name on the Alsternordbahn , which ran along here until 1996. It is located on site level and has two 120 m long side platforms. The only access is on the north side. The connection between the two platforms is via a bridge structure over the subway tracks, in which there are some technical rooms. The station can be reached barrier-free via ramps to the connecting bridge.
