Tower of the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción

Utebo is a city ( municipality ) in Spain . It is located twelve kilometers from the city center of Saragossa in the province of Saragossa in the autonomous region of Aragon .

geography

The municipality consists of three settlement cores, the old town Casco Antiguo , the part El Monte , which has been developing as a settlement since the 1940s, and the urban part Malpica , which borders the rural district of Casetas in the city of Zaragoza.

Utebo is on the right bank of the Ebro . The municipal area is very flat and two thirds of it consists of agricultural land, which is mostly irrigated from the Ebro and Jalón rivers and the Imperial de Aragón Canal .

Attractions

The most important architectural monument in the city is the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción ( Assumption of Mary ), which was built in two phases in the 16th and 18th centuries. The Campanar de los Espejos tower in the Gothic - Mudéjar style of the 16th century is known in Spain as a scaled-down replica is located in the Poble Espanyol in Barcelona .
