history

The Christian reconquest of the place, which had already been settled in Roman times, took place towards the end of the 11th century; for 1099 the name of his master Garcia Garcés has been handed down. A castle was built under King Alfonso I (Aragón) in 1125. In 1215 King Sancho VII (Navarre) took the place under his protection. The new castle should have been built shortly thereafter. In 1261 the place finally came to Aragon .
