Vitolo (born November 2, 1989 in Las Palmas , Gran Canaria ; real life Víctor Machín Pérez ) is a Spanish football player . He has played for Atlético Madrid since January 2018 .

Career

Vitolo started his career in his hometown at UD Las Palmas . After playing in the second team for two years, he moved up to the first team for the 2010/11 season . In his first year Vitolo came due to a cruciate ligament tear, which he suffered on matchday 14, only to ten missions in which he managed a hit. In the 2011/12 season Vitolo became a regular player and was used in 36 games and scored 10 goals. In the 2012/13 season he was able to improve further and scored 15 goals in 39 games. In the promotion play-offs he and his team had to admit defeat to UD Almería .

For the 2013/14 season , Vitolo moved to the Primera División for Sevilla FC , where he received a four-year contract until June 30, 2017. In his first year in the top Spanish league, he was able to prevail and completed 29 games (25 of them in the starting line-up), in which he scored four goals. He and his team also won the UEFA Europa League . On March 12, 2015, Vitolo scored the fastest goal in Europa League history in a 3-1 away win against FC Villarreal after 13.21 seconds.

For the 2017/18 season , Vitolo agreed a contract with Atlético Madrid until June 30, 2022. Since the club was only allowed to register players for play again from January 1, 2018 due to a transfer ban imposed by FIFA , he returned until then initially back to his hometown club UD Las Palmas . By the end of 2017, he was used in nine league games and scored one goal.

National team

In March 2015, Vitolo was appointed to the A- squad for the first time by Vicente del Bosque . He made his debut on March 31, 2015 when he came on as a substitute for Pedro in the 2-0 friendly defeat against the Netherlands in the second half .
