What's wrong with Alex Mack? (Original title: The Secret World of Alex Mack ) is an American television series .

The series is about a 13-year-old girl who develops psychic powers as a result of an accident involving chemicals. Among other things, she can generate electricity from her fingers (see Kirlian photography ) and develops telekinetic skills.

The chemical comes from the laboratory of an inscrutable chemical company called Atron Inc., whose boss, Danielle Atron, is trying to find the teenager who was doused with the chemical in the accident and to conduct experiments with him. She is accompanied by two men. Since then, Alex has been on the run from the chemical company (where her own father works).

Alex keeps her psychic powers as secret as possible so that she appears as an ordinary high school girl. Her best friend, Raymond Alvarado, next to her sister Annie, who is about three years her senior, is the only one who knows her secret. Alex's best friend, Robyn Russo, however, has no idea.

Her ability to transform into a puddle of chemicals and crawl through cracks in the door continues to develop over the course of the series, so that in the end she is able to transform whoever she touches into such a pool as well.

At the end of the series, Alex is caught and imprisoned. Her parents are also taken away and temporarily detained. In this captivity Alex reveals her supernatural abilities to the parents.
