history

The market law of Wulfenstorf was first in a Urbar called 1514th

In the last days of the Second World War , Wilfersdorf and its cadastral communities were the scene of violent and eventful battles between troops of the Wehrmacht and the Red Army . Wilfersdorf was attacked from the air on April 15, 1945, and several buildings were destroyed. In the course of the ground fighting, a small German tank unit succeeded in throwing the Soviets back over the Zaya three times . Subsequently, the place was under artillery fire for three days , with 35% of the building stock destroyed and two civilians killed. On April 19, 1945, the Red Army marched into Wilfersdorf. A total of 27 German soldiers were killed in fighting between April 17 and 19 in Hobersdorf, and 11 buildings were destroyed by fire. In Bullendorf, 25 German soldiers of the Waffen SS , six Red Army soldiers and three civilians died in infantry battles. On April 20, the Soviet soldiers occupied Bullendorf and immediately began the looting, which resulted in serious attacks and war crimes against the civilian population. There is evidence that girls, young and old women have been raped over a period of almost six months after the Russians marched into Bullendorf. Men who refused to reveal where women were hiding were shot. Due to the catastrophic supply situation, typhus also broke out in the village and claimed further deaths. Only in autumn 1945 did the situation return to normal to some extent.

In August 2016, during the construction of the Nord Autobahn (A5) near Bullendorf, two unusually long 2.5 m long tusks and vertebral bones of an ancient mammoth were recovered. The fossils are estimated to be a million years old.
