The World Matchplay 2014 was a major tournament in darts and was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). It was held from July 19-27, 2014 in Blackpool's Winter Gardens .
The defending champion Phil Taylor won the tournament for the 15th time by beating the Dutchman Michael van Gerwen in the final .
Prize money
The total prize money awarded was £ 450,000 . This means that £ 50,000 more was paid out than in previous years.

Trivia
- The players were accompanied on stage by the "walk-on girls" Daniela Allfree, Sammi Marsh and Sophie May Jarvis.
- In the second round against Michael Smith, Phil Taylor threw the only nine-darter in the tournament when he won the ninth leg with only nine darts. For this he received prize money of £ 10,000.
