The Betfair World Matchplay 2012 is a major tournament in darts and was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). It was held from July 21-29, 2012 in Blackpool's Winter Gardens .

The defending champion Phil Taylor won the tournament for the 13th time by beating his compatriot James Wade in the final .

Sport 1 broadcast the 2012 World Matchplay live on German television . The pay TV broadcaster Sport 1+ showed the match days live and in full.
