Arensberg belongs to the village of Bismark and is a district of the town of Bismark (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

The Altmark village of Arensberg is located 2 kilometers northeast of Bismark near the Stendal – Uelzen railway line .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1337 as arnsberg . In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the village was called Arnsberge . It belonged to the brothers Nikolaus and Rule Bismarck and Peter Gunther, all three citizens of Stendal .

On July 25, 1952, the community of Arensberg from the district of Stendal was incorporated into the newly established district of Kalbe (Milde) . The municipality of Arensberg was dissolved on May 23, 1973 and incorporated into Bismark (Altmark). Since January 1, 2010, the Arensberg district has also been part of the newly formed village of Bismark (Altmark).

The stone church in Arensberg dates from the 13th century.

Until 1814 there was a separate parish in the village. The last pastor was Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Fohrholtz. The Protestant parish with the Arensberg branch church has belonged to the Garlipp parish since 1815.
