history

The stop was put into operation with the inaugural run of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn in September 1967 on the route between Garath and Ratingen -Ost. This made the S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr the first new S-Bahn system in Germany after 1945. The continuous long-distance railway tracks run east of the stop (track 1 and 2)

On June 5, 1989, during his visit to the state capital , Mikhail Gorbatschow arrived in his special train instead of the Düsseldorf central station in Garath and was received there by the state government.

Trivia

The station, which is located in one of the social hot spots in Düsseldorf, experienced local fame and great media interest, especially as a meeting place for the right-wing extremist scene.
