geography

The hamlet is 5.5 kilometers southwest of Cadolzburg in the valley of the Reichenbach , a left tributary of the Bibert . In terms of nature, it is located in Rangau . In the northwest there is a small forest area, otherwise the place is surrounded by arable land and grassland. The corridor south of the village is called Am Vogelherd, and the Herbstbuck is located southwest of the village. A community road leads to Hornsegen (1.1 km to the west) or to Rütteldorf (0.7 km to the east). Another communal road leads to Deberndorf to the district road FÜ 19 (1.2 km north).

history

The place was first mentioned in writing in connection with the sale of a Friz von Lebzingen to the Heilsbronn monastery around 1343 under the name "Baldersdorf". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Baldheri ( ahd. The strong, the brave).

At the end of the 18th century there were three properties in Ballersdorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg . The Brandenburg-Bayreuth City Bailiff's Office in Markt Erlbach exercised the high court over the Bavarian subject to a limited extent. The village and township government had the box office Cadolzburg held. The landlords were Kastenamt Cadolzburg (2 courtyards) and the Brandenburg-Bayreuthian Kastenamt Neuhof (1 courtyard). In 1799 the manorial conditions were unchanged.

As part of the municipal edict, Ballersdorf was assigned to the Deberndorf tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Deberndorf , which was founded in the same year . The Bavarian original cadastre shows Ballersdorf in the 1810s as a hamlet with three hearths along the street and a common well. On January 1, 1972, the community Deberndorf was dissolved in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria and Ballersdorf was incorporated into Cadolzburg.

Almost 500 m west of the town center is a burial place with burial mounds from prehistoric times, which is protected as a ground monument and a hunting hill from the early modern era. No historical building fabric has been preserved in Ballersdorf. The place is still predominantly agricultural today. Two farmsteads north and south of the town center have been added, as well as a 600 m² pond in the center of the town, dammed up from the water of the Reichenbach .
