Wachendorf (colloquially: "Wacheʳdorf") is a district of the Cadolzburg market in the Middle Franconian district of Fürth .

geography

The village is located in Rangau between the cities of Nuremberg , Ansbach and Rothenburg ob der Tauber about two kilometers east of Cadolzburg, four kilometers west of Fürth and about five kilometers northwest of Zirndorf . The place is on the southern slope of the Klingenbucks ( 379  m above sea level ) and Schaltberg ( 369  m above sea level ) west of the Zirndorfer Forest. The place is located on Brunnlohbach (called Banderbach in the lower reaches), a left tributary of the Bibert and on the municipal ditch , which is a right tributary of the Banderbach.

history

In 1177 the place was first mentioned in a document as the "guard village". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Wacho.

At the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties in Wachendorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg . The village and township government had the box office Cadolzburg held. The landlords were the Kastenamt Cadolzburg (one yard, three half yards, three estates, one house), the imperial city of Nuremberg : Landesalmosenamt (two half yards), Schlüsselfelder Foundation (one estate) and the Nuremberg owner von Haller (one half yard, two estates). In 1804 there were 13 properties in the village, eight of which were subordinate to Cadolzburg, the rest were Nuremberg.

As part of the community edict, Wachendorf was assigned to the Steinbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Steinbach , which was founded in the same year . Until 1812, three properties in voluntary jurisdiction were subject to the patrimonial court of Baron von Haller.

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Wachendorf was incorporated into Cadolzburg on May 1, 1978.

The place has been predominantly Protestant since the Reformation. The residents are parish to St. Cäcilia (Cadolzburg) , the residents of Roman Catholic denomination are parish to St. Otto (Cadolzburg) .

traffic

The district road FÜ 19 leads to Cadolzburg to state road 2409 (2.3 km west) or to Banderbach (3 km south east). Communal roads lead to Egersdorf (1 km north) and Bronnamberg (2 km south-east).

About 150 meters north of the village is located on the rangau railway the breakpoint Egersdorf . The Lokalbahn Aktien-Gesellschaft opened the Zirndorf – Cadolzburg section on October 14, 1892 and has since connected the town with the city of Fürth .

In the off- peak hours , the train is replaced by individual journeys by the rail bus . At the start of the transport network for the greater Nuremberg area in September 1987, the trips were fully integrated into the network as route 111. In 1988, the wholly owned rail subsidiary Omnibusverkehr Franken took over the concession . Class 614 diesel multiple units have been running every half hour on weekdays since 1994; from 8 p.m. and every hour on Saturday and Sunday. In 2006 the class 614 was replaced by class 648 railcars. Line 152 connects the place with Cadolzburg and the places around the Dillenberg in the west as well as the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Gymnasium in Oberasbach , the State Realschule Zirndorf and the secondary and vocational schools in Fürth.

At the weekend, with the Nightliner N21 a wrong night bus from Fürth Zirndorf about to Ammerndorf .
