Greimersdorf (colloquially: "Greimeʳschdoʳf") is a district of the Cadolzburg market in the central Franconian district of Fürth .

geography

The village is located one kilometer north of Cadolzburg in the valley of the Farrnbach and is surrounded by arable land and grassland with a few trees. Naturally, it is located in Rangau . A community road leads to Cadolzburg (1 km southeast) or to the district road FÜ 16 (0.6 km northeast). Another community road runs to Gonnersdorf (1.7 km to the west).

history

The fertile valley of the Farrnbach was already settled in Carolingian times. About one kilometer east of today's town center there was a prehistoric and early historical settlement of an unclear time as well as a row cemetery from the early Middle Ages , which are protected as ground monuments.

The place was in Urbar the burgrave Nuremberg , noted that originated around 1370 as "Greim village" was first documented. In 1800 the place was called "Greinersdorf". The final word of the place name is the personal name Grempreth.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were seven properties in Greimersdorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg . The village and township government had the box office Cadolzburg held. The landlords were the Cadolzburg caste office (three courtyards, a mill, a shepherd's house) and the state charity office of the imperial city of Nuremberg (two half- courtyards ). In 1800 there were five households in the village, three of which were subordinate to the Cadolzburg caste office and two were from Nuremberg.

As part of the community edict, Greimersdorf was assigned to the Steinbach tax district formed in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community Roßendorf founded in the same year .

The Bavarian original cadastre shows Greimersdorf in the 1810s with ten stoves and a mill. To the west of it, the then still freely meandering Farrnbach is dammed over a channel to a 2500 m² mill pond. The mill went bankrupt in 1827 and was auctioned together with the associated rights and lands. In the following years it was demolished and completely rebuilt.

The course of the Farrnbach was straightened in the 19th or early 20th century and a chain of five ponds was built east of the village . Together they have a water surface of almost one hectare and are used for fishing.

On July 1, 1972, Greimersdorf was incorporated into Cadolzburg as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

The old town is still predominantly agricultural today. A new building area south of the Farrnbach was added in the 1960s. There, villa and home development predominate and the local population predominantly commutes . A renovation project in Greimersdorf received public recognition for village renewal and building culture in 2009.
