Beek ( Limburgish Baek ) is a Dutch municipality in the province of Limburg and, according to the CBS, had 15,935 inhabitants on January 31, 2019 . The Maastricht Aachen Airport is located in the municipality. Beek is located 15 km north of Maastricht and 20 km east of the Belgian city of Genk .

The coat of arms is divided and split at the bottom.

The top of the first field in a growing silver red doppelschwänziger rotgezungter Leo ( Limburgian Lion ), the black until reaching to the edge cross obscured; in the second field in red a silver double snake cross and in the third field in silver three (2; 1) red balls . The blue stripe on the flag symbolizes the Cötelbeek river , after which the municipality is named.

A golden crown rests on the shield .
