Venues of the district class Erfurt-Thuringia 1935/36 (blue = champions / yellow = relegated / gray = French withdrawal) |
The district class Erfurt-Thuringia 1935/36 was the third season of the second-class district class Thuringia, which served as a substructure for the Gauliga Mitte . Again, the league was played in round- robin mode with a round-trip leg with twelve clubs. In addition to the two district class promoters Apolda and Sömmerda, the military sports club MSVGera was also transferred to the district class Thuringia this season for reasons of sporting policy .
Last year's runner-up, FC Thuringia Weida , was able to secure the district championship this season with a five-point lead over the Reichswehr club SpVg Gelb-Rot Meiningen . In the promotion round to the Gauliga in mid-1936 / 37 , the renowned East Thuringians also prevailed and rose to the Gauliga together with SV Merseburg 99 for the coming season. The SV Germania 07 Ilmenau and the MSV Gera were relegated to the Erfurt and Osterland district classes . The Meininger also dropped out of the class and then probably withdrew completely from the game. The club's whereabouts in the district classes for next year's season is not documented.
