Biathlon Junior World Championships

Biathlon Junior World Championships ( IBU Junior World Championships ) have been held for men since 1967 and for women since 1989. The first venue was Altenberg (then GDR ). The age limit for participating athletes is 20 years. From 1967 to 1988 the competitions were held as part of the biathlon world championships.

Since 2002, competitions in the youth field ( Biathlon Youth World Championships  /  IBU Youth World Championships ) have been held as part of the Junior World Championships .
