With the win, Ćorić secured first place in the junior rankings, at the end of the year he was second. In the off-season he trained together with the then world number one Rafael Nadal on the Spanish island of Mallorca to prepare for the 2014 season.

He started this in February in Zagreb , where he lost to qualifier Michael Berrer in the first round . After a few more or less successful future and challenger tournaments, he received another wildcard for the tournament in Nice , but lost his opening game against Leonardo Mayer . He caused a big surprise at the US Open in 2014 when he qualified for the main field and clearly defeated Lukáš Rosol in three sets in the first round . Then he failed in four sets to Víctor Estrella , but moved up to position 176 in the world rankings.
In September 2014 he reached his first Challenger final in Izmir, Turkey , which he won in three sets against Malek Jaziri . At the Swiss Indoors in Basel, Ćorić received a wild card for an ATP tournament, which he used in an impressive way. In the first round he defeated the seeded Latvian Ernests Gulbis in two sets , in the round of 16 Andrei Golubew , before he met former world number one Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals, whom he also defeated in two sets. After his biggest victory so far, Ćorić failed in the semifinals in three sets to David Goffin , but moved into the top 100 for the first time in the world rankings; he ended the year in 91st place.
