The 1995 Castella Classic British Open was a snooker tournament of the 1995/96 season that was held in Plymouth from April 1st to 9th . After Derby's move last year, it was held in the Plymouth Pavilions for the second time . It was the 11th edition of the tournament. After no name sponsor had been found for the first time last year, the Castella Classic cigar brand supported the British Open this year .

Defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan was in the final again this year, but this time he did not take the title. John Higgins won the final match 9-6. The Scot secured his fourth tournament victory this season and outperformed his English competitor, who had won three titles in his first successful season last year.

Main tournament

After four qualifying rounds, in which the players from 33rd place in the world rankings had participated, 32 players were left. The top 32 were placed directly for the main tournament, the 32 qualifiers were drawn for the first round.
