The Categoría Primera A 1951 was the fourth edition of the Colombian football championship . The championship was won by the top club Millonarios ahead of Boca Juniors de Cali , who won the title for the second time. The top scorer was the Argentine Alfredo di Stéfano von Millonarios with 32 goals.

The number of participants increased from 16 to 18 teams. For the first time, Deportes Quindío from Armenia and Deportivo Samarios from Santa Marta took part. Atlético Municipal changed its name to Atlético Nacional .
