The Categoría Primera A 1968 was the twenty-first edition of the Colombian football championship . Unión Magdalena won the championship for the first and only time before Deportivo Cali . As in the previous year, the top scorer was the Argentine José María Ferrero from Millonarios with 33 goals.
The same 14 teams participated as in the previous year.
mode
For the first time, the Colombian soccer championship was split into two half-series, Apertura and Finalización . In each semi-series, all teams played against each other twice. The two semi-series champions then determined the master. There was also a game for third place.
