Collesano is a town of the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the Region of Sicily in Italy with 3858 inhabitants (December 31, 2019).
Location and dates
Collesano is 69 km east of Palermo about 10 km from the Mediterranean coast. The residents mainly work in agriculture.

history
The place developed around a Norman fort, which was built in the 12th century. The city of Collesano was a fief of the Siracusa family , an old Spanish family who lived with Peter III. came to Sicily from Aragon. Due to the succession, Collesano came under the rule of this family after the marriage of Bernardo Siracusa with Hilaria Ventimiglia. Francesco I. Ventimiglia was the first Count of Collesano.
