Villafrati is a city of Metropolitan city of Palermo in the Region of Sicily in Italy with 3271 inhabitants (December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Villafrati is 37 km south of Palermo . The residents mainly work in agriculture and carpentry.

The place is right on the SS 121 road from Palermo to Agrigento . After rail traffic to Villafrati was discontinued in 1954, the place can only be reached by road today.

The neighboring municipalities are: Baucina , Bolognetta , Cefalà Diana , Ciminna , Marineo and Mezzojuso .

history

The place originated in the 18th century. It was founded by Vincenzo Filangeri , Count of San Marco.
