Chiusa Sclafani is a city in the metropolitan city of Palermo in the Sicily region in Italy with 2682 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Chiusa Sclafani is 80 km south of Palermo . The inhabitants work mainly in agriculture and the wood processing industry. About 9 km to the south is the village of San Carlo. The inhabitants are engaged in agriculture, mainly there are plantations of mandarins and oranges. San Carlo is incorporated into Chiusa Sclafani.

The neighboring communities are Bisacquino , Burgio ( AG ), Caltabellotta ( AG ), Corleone , Giuliana and Palazzo Adriano .

After rail traffic to Chiusa Sclafani was discontinued in 1959, the city can only be reached by road today.

history

The community was founded in 1320 by Count Matteo Sclafani. In the course of time the owner of the community changed several times.
