Pollina is a city of Metropolitan city of Palermo in the Region of Sicily in Italy with 2,891 inhabitants (December 31, 2019).

Pollina is located 96 km east of Palermo on a 900 m high cliff.

The residents mainly work in agriculture and industry. From the bark of manna ash is Manna harvested, the raw material in which a, pharmaceutical is used.

The neighboring municipalities are Castelbuono , Cefalù and San Mauro Castelverde .

From 1178 the city developed around a fort.

people

The honorary citizen of the city is called Francesco Musotto. He set up the city's water supply. Today there is a memorial statue on the Pietrarosa, the highest point in the city. In honor of the patron saint, San Giuliano, a three-day festival is celebrated every year on the 2nd Sunday in July.
