Location and dates

Ventimiglia di Sicilia is 44 km southeast of Palermo . The residents mainly work in agriculture.

The neighboring municipalities are Baucina , Bolognetta , Caccamo , Casteldaccia and Ciminna .

history

The municipality was founded in 1625 by Don Girolamo del Carretto. The city was named after his wife Beatrice Ventimiglia . In 1863 di Sicilia was added to the name to distinguish the city from Ventimiglia in Liguria . In the Sicilian language the name is Calamigna .
